My laboratory is investigating the growth and development of deciduous (stone fruits, pome fruits) fruit tree, especially apple for understanding the orchard (tree, management, environment) factors and postharvest factors that control fruit productivity and quality; developing technology to overcome fruit industry problems.
1.Biochemistry of fruit flavors and pigments (anthocyanin); investigation of the biochemical pathways involved in color development and flavors substances in fruits and the regulation of these pathways during fruit development and maturation.
2. Whole tree physiology, nutrition and water relations of fruit tree, especially apple; effects of cultural practices on tree physiology; cultural techniques of the tree associated with the production of quality fruit.
